The “Leadership in Action” Series is one of the signature programmes of The Executive Development Centre (EDC). “Leadership in Action VI – Leadership for Volunteer Organizations” took place on 11 March. The EDC had the great pleasure to invite seasoned leaders in the field to deliver a workshop tailored to leaders and volunteers of volunteer organizations, NGOs and social enterprises.
Two successful senior managers with more than 30 years’ experience, Mr Chong Chan Yau, President of the HK Blind Union and former Executive Director of Oxfam HK, together with Mr Sunny Wong, Executive Director of Tibet Water Resources, former Chairman of Carlsberg Greater China, and Adjunct Professor, Department of Management, School of Business, HSMC, compared different institutional leadership and innovative sales strategies from different perspectives.
In Mr Wong’s session, he shared his precious experience in an international enterprise in the FMCG market, and how his heartfelt leadership succeeded in motivating his staff and expanding the brand within China. Mr Chong shared his experience on how he overcame various difficulties, like a tight budget and low resources, to improve results. He successfully increased donation amounts substantially and expanded the campaign to the Asia Pacific region by promoting his company in an innovative way when working in the NGO sector. In addition, Ms Jennifer Wong, the co-founder of Codekey Cookies shared her valuable experience of running a social enterprise.
The participants were impressed with what they learnt from the speakers and they rated the workshop highly.
We hope to meet you at the next session if you missed this one!
